Sensor: JWaves DECT sensor

Use the JWaves DECT sensor for field capture, DECT onsite site surveys, DECT spectrum analysis, and forensic workflows.

The sensor connects the JWaves SaaS project to real measured RF data so users can create measured RSSI heatmaps, analyze the spectrum, and validate deployments onsite.

Supported Sensor

JWaves currently supports the LimeSDR Mini 2.0 for DECT onsite survey and DECT spectrum analysis workflows.

Before You Start

  • install the JWaves sensor client on the Windows field laptop
  • connect the supported sensor
  • confirm the correct DECT band for the country or site
  • sign in to the JWaves SaaS application
  • open the project or spectrum analyzer workflow you want to use

Connect The Sensor

  1. Connect the sensor to the field laptop.
  2. Start the JWaves sensor client.
  3. Verify that the client reports the sensor as connected.
  4. Open JWaves in the browser.
  5. Confirm that live sensor status appears in the relevant JWaves page.

RSSI Units

JWaves displays RSSI consistently across live measurements and saved survey points.

  • calibrated sensor: RSSI is displayed in dBm
  • uncalibrated sensor: RSSI is displayed in dBFS

Do not compare dBm and dBFS values directly. Calibrated and uncalibrated values use different references.

Use The Sensor In JWaves

The same supported sensor can be used for:

  • live DECT RSSI capture
  • DECT onsite site surveys
  • measured survey heatmaps
  • DECT spectrum analysis
  • offline local survey capture and recovery

Troubleshooting

If JWaves does not receive sensor data, check these items first:

  • the sensor client is running
  • the sensor is detected by Windows
  • the correct DECT band is selected
  • browser access to the local sensor websocket is allowed
  • the JWaves user account has access to the sensor workflow
